About Marina Tolpin

Owner | Lead Designer

Marina’s passion for interior design was sparked at a young age by her love of beautiful architecture and spaces. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and studied interior design at the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, IL.

Marina began her career in luxury kitchen and bath design, working for notable names such as Mick DeGiulio, and later joined a prestigious full-service interior design firm. Her focus is on creating stunning, functional spaces that reflect her clients’ unique lifestyles and needs in each season of their lives.

In addition to her design work, Marina has a background in classical ballet. She began studying ballet as a child and spent nine years teaching at the Lake Forest Dance Academy. She still enjoys taking the occasional dance class and loves spending time with her husband and two teenage children.

Design Process

1

Introduction
Call

The introduction call is the first step for us to get to know one another. During this 20–30 minute conversation, we’ll discuss your project goals, design style, and the spaces you’re looking to transform. It’s an opportunity for you to learn more about our process and to see how we can best bring your vision to life.

2

Initial In-Home
Consultation

Following our introduction call, the initial in-home consultation is where ideas begin to take shape. During this on-site visit, we’ll explore your space in detail - its architecture, natural light, flow, and potential. We’ll discuss your priorities, aesthetic preferences, and the way you envision living in your home.

3

Concept Design

During the concept design phase, we’ll present a cohesive design direction for your project. This includes preliminary floor plans, material samples, and thoughtfully curated mood boards illustrating the design direction of furniture, fixtures, and finishes. You’ll have the chance to review each detail and ensure it aligns with your goals as we move forward.

4

Design
Development

Once the design direction is established, the design development phase focuses on refinement and detail. We’ll finalize floor plans, confirm all material selections, and present them for your approval.

5

Procurement
and Installation

Once all designs and items are approved, you don’t need to bother shopping for every element yourself! We'll manage the purchasing, tracking, and delivery of all your selections to our warehouse. Once they arrive, we will oversee all the details in your home for a seamless installation.
